A special guidance lecture on the structural calculation of graduation design for civil engineering major was held in classroom B4-101 on the morning of April 9 to further enhance the design ability of 2015 Grade civil engineering undergraduates. Mr. Zhangyan, the teacher of Civil Engineering College, was invited to give the lecture about structural design and calculation. 2015 Grade undergraduates and graduation design instructors attended the lecture and have in-depth discussion and communication on potential problems in graduation design.

Professor Zhangyan was senior engineer and chief engineer with rich project design experience, and worked on the structural design in Architectural Design College of Shenyang Jianzhu University. With years of experience on engineering design and graduation design requirements of civil engineering undergraduates, he gave a comprehensive explanation on problems in important links of structural design such as load, internal force analysis and reinforcement calculation. He also elaborated method of structural calculation and its related applications, analyzed relevant examples with knowledge students learned in the past four years to help them better understand difficulties in structural design.

Combined with graduation design requirements of civil engineering professional certification, the lecture combed tasks for students included in structural design and solved their problems in graduation design, which is helpful in students' civil engineering consciousness, comprehensive application of knowledge and problem-solving ability. Students said they had benefited a lot from this lecture.
